Description "They called it Heaven, but he saw the truth.
He tried to protect the lesser beings,
those who were stranded on land,
from the evil he saw among his own kind.
But they caught him trying to preserve goodness,
trying to preserve peace
and to defend what he believed on.
He was punished, one of his wings ripped appart.
Just one, as the other wing would remind him
of who he once was and where he came from.
Just one, as even if he still had one of his wings,
he could never fly back home."

---------------------------------------------------

It was great to work on this one, I kind of fell in love with my own concept xD I'm pretty happy with the result overall, even if the wing looked so much better at the concept sketch than the actual drawing, but well, shit happens. Also, I really, really need to get decent ink and massking fluid for next Inktober. Like, it's really, really necessary.

Hope you like it!! ^^

:3 Now that the stories are finished, I can finally comment on what I LOVE about this artwork! Because this is really really atmospheric dude.

The first thing of which being the gray skies which evoke that dew between the night and the sunrise which has kind of a grey hue to it like being caught in between light and darkness, which in this case I think better reflects his regrets as demonstrated in your poetry about how he had so much taken away, was trying his best to save people but ultimately be left as half the angel he used to be.

^^ The gore on the wing is excellently done. You can see enough detail with the bone and bleeding down his back that you can feel what's been done to him so incisively but likewise its not something that I think would make people squeamish or uncomfortable. It does well to further illustrate his loss.

Onto the Angel himself (still gotta think up a name for him) X3 First of all he's hot <3 We don't see his face, but he's shirtless which is a massive plus, X3 But I'm guessing what was taken from him was some sort of cool eloquently stylish angelic garb that besides his gray pants probably had a majorly heaven vibe to it.

But best of all I like that even if you can't see his face, you know exactly what he's feeling right then and there, he's pensive and melancholy for what he's lost which is what drew me to this artwork to begin with and I think its with this that his core conflict would be to understand where his fellow angels went wrong, try to repair himself as best he can and do his best to live life by the kindness and compassion he valued before ya know?

:3 Keep on kicking ass dude! Because this artwork is fantastic.

Oh... Well there goes my reality X3 Still I think the effect worked well enough to convey an atmosphere (which I was initially gonna write as the effect being fog, but sorta changed it since one might think the Angel took a wrong turn into Silent Hill)

:3 Excellent! I await them with eagerness <3

That could be a good point, the prisoners get paltry clothes while the higher ups get outfits that are a little more regal and luminous with all sorts of glyphic patterns on them XD
