Oh, to be a FedEx employee in the apocalypse... But all jokes aside, this game has been the major component in my procrastinating this month. There is something about it that makes it very unlike anything I've ever played before. I won't give my full opinion on it until I've finished it, but I can say for sure that calling it a walking simulator is an unfair oversimplification. It has its flaws, yes, but it also has a lot of interesting themes and symbolism. Most prominently, the fact that in a destroyed world where humanity is desperately trying to reconnect itself, the biggest effort is done by a man who wants nothing to do with human connection, to the point where he's afraid of physical touch. It's a gigantic irony and I'm all for seeing where it leads. At the same time, there is just the right amount of player integration when it comes to building Sam's character - he's not silent by any means and his opinions are crystal clear, but it's ultimately our actions as players that dictate how much he cares about his job and the people he delivers to. We well and truly become him, and I applaud Kojima for that at least. I'm extremely curious to see how this ends.

I wasn't exactly sure where I was going with this one, I just knew I wanted to draw Sam and the baby so badly. I tried to challenge myself by limiting my color palette, and I guess I subconsciously drew inspiration from Piccolo-kun's lovely work (those Icarus and the Sun comics), and the results were much better than I expected! I should also mention that I intended for this to be viewed upside down since it's inspired by the Hanged Man tarot arcana, I feel it fits since Sam is currently in a perilous journey out of his own volition which may or may not lead him to mental growth, but I must have messed up the composition somewhere because it just looks wrong when I flip it over. Hope you'll enjoy this regardless.
