I grew up on an audio-cassette book series called Rabbit Ears that we had four of: the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Paul Bunyan, How the Leopard Got His Spots, and Peter Rabbit; Sleepy Hollow was read by Glenn Close, and there was nothing in it that gave me the impression the Disney cartoon conjured up for this woman. I didn't like Sluefoot Sue from the Pecos Bill cartoon either, and this design is in the exact same vein; then again, that audio book creeped me out as a kid, so I never listened to it after dark, which is why I didn't find out about Katrina toying with Ichabod to make Brom jealous being canon until years later, so I guess this portrayal was accurate, if not enjoyable. I know they were drawing from kid's folklore in the movie, but when Bing Crosby comes in and starts talking about, "What about American heroes like Johnny Appleseed?" I was like, "What about real American heroes like Tecumseh and Harriet Tubman?" Still, it was fine, for the most part; please enjoy!
