I don't think I get the new submissions setup...*feels retarded*

Yah...the title needs some explanation, I think.
First, an explanation of why I love these two (as friends, and also shonen-ai)
There's lots of light fluffyness (because they are both pretty happy characters, ne?), and even if you write/draw them as a romantic pairing it's not heavy smut, because they are first and foremost friends, even if you think there's more to it as well. But you have a nice angsty undertone as well, what with Ukitake's illness and stuff.
Hence the title - I was listening to "Nobody" by Five For Fighting while I was colouring this and trying to think of a title, and there's a bit in that which I felt pretty appropriate to this relationship:
"But I know that as we go around and around
Though the endings are never ever happy
It's the happy moments along the way
That in the end
Make it okay."

This was another one that was supposed to be part of my big work-in-not-much-progress. Not much progress is only natural, though, if every time I screw up and run off theb paper, I like it anyway and spend two days and 31 layers (not counting the 6 I merged putting together the screentone for Kyouraku's haori and taking into account the fact that I accidentally did his hair and skin on the same layer) colouring it.

I'm pretty pleased with the result, actually. Kyouraku is a bastard to colour. That damned haori...someone commented on my last picture of these that they didn't like that I'd missed out the pattern, and to be honest, I didn't like it like that either, so I spent bloody ages trying to do it properly here. Thing is, the anime version is actually quite simple but I don't like it, so I didn't do it. It's the manga that's hard, because it's a screentone, and I don't have any complete flower screentones, just little samples...hence the 6 merged layers. And THEN I had to colour it in...

Ukitake's so much easier....you just have to be adept at finding different shades of white XD

The building behind them...took me ages, and all the good bits are hidden *sulks*
The tree was just because I like to draw trees (nearly as much as I like to draw skies) And sakura petals are easier than leaves...

I'm also quite happy about my developing ability to reference from the manga and change the expressions and poses, whereas before I could only either copy completely or do it without much reference (the building and both figures are all referenced from seperate bits of the manga, Kyouraku and the building from the chapter where he's fighting Chad, I think it's 106, and Ukitake from I don't know which chapter, but where he's thinking about Kaien and contemplating giving a Byakuya a good kick up the backside (wish he had ))

Forgive the rambling. I'm just going on and on because I'm actually pretty proud of this, so I want to talk about it...
