Juniper isn’t very good with first impressions. Most often when you first meet her she’ll come off as somewhat impatient, shifty, standoffish, and a bit pessimistic. All of those are true to her, but most likely she’s just very, very, nervous. Juniper gets incredibly terrified by people and though she loves to spend time with them, she’s just frankly not very good at social interactions.
Now if she were to be forced to spend time with you, you’d find her to be loud and completely over dramatic, freaking out at every turn. She easily slips into panic attacks and can be quite tiresome to keep up with at times; that’s all intensified with the fact she is a complete coward. If you put her in an aggressive situation she will yell, cry, and scream, finding it difficult to keep herself together. When around people she becomes so nervous about slipping up she becomes ten times as clumsy because she’s focusing on you instead of what she’s supposed to be doing.
If you weren’t driven away by her brash mannerisms and happen to get a bit closer, you’d end with a girl who is a little bit easier to get along with. Often times she’ll let you make the decisions and even when she does have an opinion it’s easily influenced. At this point in the relationship she’ll keep her eye on you and try to figure out if she wants to keep you close or not.
Finally if she decides you are worthy and makes herself comfortable around you, you’ll end up with somebody much different than you originally thought. Juniper was born to fix a broken marriage between a Wood Elf and a Light Elf. They all lived together in her mother’s carpentry shop in Belport that had run through the family for years. Her father came from a wealthy line of Light Elves from Nisalvini, so even when business was slow they were able to keep the shop afloat. He was the type to spoil her with gifts and trinkets, while her mother was a bit more strict and would often ‘play the bad guy’. By the time Juniper was six, it was obvious to everyone involved that this wasn’t going to work any longer.
Her father was a tall, pale, wizard that had devoted his life to traveling, studying, and learning the ways of magic before he settled down with her mother. Once it was apparent that he could stay there no longer, he took Juniper and left to resume that life. Juniper spent the next fifteen years with her father. He wasn't just her father though, he was a teacher, and source of income that allowed her to keep up with her taste in clothing and purchase whatever tomes or ingredients she needed to further her education.
Her father taught her everything she knew about magic since she had taken a great interest, but he also held up a great standard of perfection that he would hold over her head. After all, with the resources at her fingertips, she really should have been progressing at a faster rate than she was. Her taste was for illusions, but she was still amateur at best. All the time with her father and constant judgement slowly turned her into the nervous little twerp she is today.
While traveling through the Koben Empire, she had parted ways with him to do some exploring of the local village only to find him in a bloody heap on the outskirts of town several hours later. She assumed he must have gotten himself attacked after flaunting his wealth and treating the citizens with contempt. She could never be sure though since he refuses to talk about it. After that incident they returned to his home in Nisalvini. Sadly it was determined he would be permanently handicapped.

While she did spend the next year looking after him, she felt a bit too locked down. A growing curiosity sprouted in the girl as she wished to travel to find her birth mother again. Up until this point she had been satisfied with traveling with her father, and the way he spoke of her mother made her sure it was best to leave things the way it was. She traveled to the north where she came to the town of Belport and was certain it was just as her father had described it. The shop her mother once owned was now closed since she could no longer afford to keep it open on her own and stubbornly refused to hire anyone outside of the family.
Once in the town she was somewhat easily able to track down her mother to a small pub near the harbor where she worked as a bartender who lived just a few streets down. Juniper found she appreciated her mother’s sense of things a bit more, however the people there were just a little more...rugged than she was used to. She felt uncomfortable and intimidated all the time. Juniper spent the next year living with her mother and saving up money before she left to do a bit of traveling on her own. Currently she has gotten into the habit of traveling around and working part time wherever she gets stuck until she can return to Belport and help her mother who still hopes to get the old shop back up again one day.

When it comes to illusions she’s still far from skilled. She’s able to conjure up simple and occasionally more complex tricks however she puts a lot of focus into it and if you touch her on most occasions her illusions will completely shatter. She tends to be better at it when she's more relaxed.
If she’s trying to cast an illusion and you make her think about something else it’s not uncommon for it to end up integrated into her magic. For example if she’s trying to conjure of the illusion of rain clouds or snow and you make her hungry it may end up raining chicken legs.
Often times her favorite type of illusions are surreal and trippy. She likes to mess with your mind, man.
With the help of her mother, her mother's friends, and some money from her father's side, she was able to build a small, one room cottage on the outskirts of town for when she comes to visit.
She prefers people who are more interesting for her company. While it's easier for her around quieter and calmer people, she definitely has a preference for more outgoing people.
