Thank you! Mostly just playing around with blending settings in my art software, then I fine-tune them into shapes. It takes some practice, and can be time-consuming, but the results are very rewarding. I touched upon it here, if you're curious: longestdistance.deviantart.com… It's a bit generalized, and I'd love to do a more in-depth walkthrough of my coloring process for these types of pieces. I also add screen and Lumi&Shade at the very end for extra highlights, which wasn't mentioned in the walkthrough I linked to.

I love the fact that even though this is a still image, you managed to make the stained glass appearance look iridescent. Not only that, but you made a good reflection, showing what could most likely be seen from the angle the picture is in. I'm going to assume you drew a base and then put in the polygons afterwards?

Thank you very much! I apply the colors and then simplify them into polygon shapes you see in the final image. Here's what it looks like beforehand: sta.sh/027qfwq4cm49

Do you hand draw every triangle in, or do you use a line tool?

Now I really like this idea! Seems adapted almost to turning into something like inlay work or stained glass (although it would be a very intricate job.)

Thank you very much! Ooh, stone inlay art is the best. It might be fun to experiment with that style for a future piece!
