You always have the nicest comments - and thank you for the fave, too.
I google imaged Pierrot and just picked my favorite makeup to copy. I think this was a doll, rather than an actor.
As for the makeup, I used regular Halloween white grease paint (the cheap stuff). I wouldn't recommend using that, though. It took about seven or eight layers to get it opaque, and I had to keep reapplying throughout the shoot because it would just vanish all by itself. If you can get your hands on any better quality makeup, you should, just to save youself the aggravation of working with this stuff.
Which characters were you thinking about doing? I don't think I'll be doing anymore so I'm not worried about copying, I'm just fascinated by Commedia del'Arte and curious about what you might do. I've always wanted to see the puppet show but, somehow, I've never gotten a chance to. I'm keeping my eye out, though.
Have you seen Les Enfants du Paradis? [link] There are some pretty awesome costumes that would be great for reference.
