Description People have been taking pictures of this piece of railway track for over a hundred years. It's even more impressive with a train on it as it snakes its way along the river.

i seen this... isnt it on the B.C half of the rockies i think so....

i travel down that way alot to visit my girlfriend in Edmonton.. i myself live in the okanagan (near kelowna)

anyway good work, many great bends in the tracks around that area... one area much further into the B.C side (near blue river) has an amazing spot with a nice trestle.

anyway its an amazing picture!!!

I believe that Morants curve is on the Alberta side, but I really don't care because once I hit mountains it all blends into one big thought. I think that's wonderful that you travel so far to visit your girlfriend and I'm sure she really appreciates you for it. "I would walk 500 miles...."

i was there just on tuesday infact.

i find it cool how we come from different places (not TOO different mind you) but i show her around B.C and she shows me around Alberta.

Morant's Curve was first photographed by Morant [last name] who was hired to take pictures of the mountains and train related material for CPR. That's why this particular curve is famous. There are very few places in the mountains where you can see the full S shape of the tracks in this form. I acually have a dated Morant's Curve photo that was hanging in a CPR hotel dated in the 30's.

only thing i know about the CPR is more so on our side, such as the workers had to work 14 hour days when making it, and it was difficult, because of the many mountains in B.C that make it tough to travel.

I really love the clouds in this one. I can feel being there. Makes me want to go to the mountains!
