I don't know how we got there exactly, but Quailmixalot suggested drawing Gerrets grandmother- to design her actually since she wasn't a character before

I never even thought about her existing honestly haha

But in the stream we decided it would be adorable if Gerret lives with his grandmother (in her second floor, so he does have his own space). But they will of course constantly drink tea together, and she can be found in Gerrets room without hearing her coming (she'll just randomly appear from behind a houseplant)

She reads all his letters and she confuses animals all the time - she loves Carrot (Gerrets bunny) but she will call her a rat mostly

She is the only one in Gerrets family that is convinced that he shouldn't have a girlfriend yet because he's still "so young" (denying the fact that her youngest grandchild is already 26) - she will make him food because according to her he still needs to grow. It does explain why he is so tall though
