Description
Was most fortunate to be asked to write a chapter for the upcoming Digital Painting Techniques Vol. 4 so I painted this as a tutorial piece to demonstrate my approach, painting metals, liquids, calculating reflections and yes, illustrating psychotic pets.Do not build one of these at home... water and electricity together are not your friend.

I once created an EXTREMELY similar goldfish character who also moved around on land in a fish bowl, with two control sticks inside, atop a machine controlled by the fish - but I drew that when I was 7, haha, so I didn't draw the machine part with THAT much detail! Looking at this is like having an adult professional artist realise my childhood character in its full glory. 
Well, I'm kinda an adult now, but still.

We at Loopydave industriesβ’are glad you like the Catchaser 3000. Unfortunately, due to some manufacturing problems and an unfortunate tendency to electrocute its user, we have had to temporarily take the Catchaser 3000β’ off the market. In the meantime, if your goldfish is experiencing cat difficulties, we suggest other methods of control... possibly a restraining order or hiring a fish friendly dog.

Its since been superseded by the Catchaser 4000, which features racing stripes, and extra reverse gear and a more stable walking mechanism
