Very cool Dave. Are we going to see a Jerry Lee Lewis dragon?

And you figured the unique lighting of each individual scale... except the eighth scale from the left on the left rear haunch near the 12th vertebra. If you're going to get that sloppy I don't know how you can expect to keep getting paid.
Say hi to Sal for me...

Nah, me (the other me) and Sal have gone round and round a few times. I have, like, 12 SQP originals (you know, the tasteful non-bondage mermaid types). It usually goes:
"Is that one with the girl available?"
S- "Which one?"
"And if I got that one how much for the other one with the girl in it?"
S- "I'll have to see if I can find it."
"And if that one's not available I'll take that other one on page 15."
S- "Which one?"
"How do I pay you again?"
S- "Whatever ...call me when a check's in the mail..."
Yes, I asked about your stuff but he naturally doesn't have your "originals". However, since you usually start from a sketch you actually have work with your DNA all over it. Anything under your couch cushions suitable for framing?

Well, "suitable for framing"... I didn't say it had to be a good frame.
But you are on the Wild World Web, man. There is no where there. Depending on how exacting you want to be with your sketches you could crank out a bunch and advertise right here. A PayPal account and some paper tubes and they could fly to all the corners of the earth. They don't have to be collectable subjects, they just have to have your style. Zen Duck, Oops, Obey, Hogan's Heroes, whatever, if you said they were available they'd sell if they're original pencil to paper... I'd say anyway.

WAY too much photo ref used on this. If I may offer a critique, I think you need to try relying on actual drawing skills instead of tracing photographs of dragons. C'mon now.

Sure, tracing photos does everybody a disservice - but I think you fail to realize exactly how hard it was to get those photos in the first place. Those little buggers just won't stand still when you're trying to take their picture, particularly when you set them on fire. Burnt 6 of them to a fine crisp before I got the right photo in - and do you know how expensive buying small red dragons are nowadays?? Wait until the client gets the bill for this one!

What an amazing dragon, I love the colors and the textures on him. My Grandma told me the same thing, it's a good code to live by lol.

fabulous work, although i feel sorry for the poor little guy. Young dragons in training should carry fire extinguishers with them at all time! LOL just in case...

Thanks ma'am! Used to be a lot more dragons around with tails like matchsticks, but as they were constantly being used to light gas ovens, gun powder and cigarettes, their numbers have seriously dwindled in recent years.

But they're reusable! How big would they be, dragon sized or pocket-sized?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Loopydave In reply to WendyLynn [2010-02-11 13:53:12 +0000 UTC]
Vary in size - the pocket scaled ones (youngest) were in most demand and this led to a blackmarket kidnapping epidemic and some very irate adult dragons. Things got rather nasty and led to a large culling of these magnificent beasts and thus you dont see them around anymore. I just wrote this on the internet, so it must be true!!

Um, you are the dragon expert, hello! I definitley wouldn't want the job of culling them.
