*Edit February 2014: This picture has a very different meaning for me at this point. I met this model last year, had a very fun experience during the shooting, and enjoyed very much painting this piece. Fast forward 10 months, we saw each other again. Started going out, and now we're in a relationship! She turned out to be not only a beautiful woman, but also very sweet and caring. Art brought us together. Long live art and love!!!

Could you tell me how you get such even, smooth shading for the skin? I find it hard for me to accomplish that.

I layer cross hatching with my pen closer to a 0 degree angle from the paper
