Judgement of the SeaSalt...seaweed...the ocean breeze, Cutthroat knew it all too well. He leaned on the railing of the pier, alone at its end as he looked out over the endless ocean, Celestia’s Sun just beginning its climb over the horizon. He was focused on nothing in particular, merely listening...waiting.

He tried to drown out the noise of the seagulls, but a particularly hard crash of the surf against the wooden pier made him wince. His mind began to drift, the sounds of thunder echoing through his memory.

Wave Rider slowly trotted into the living room. Her parents had wanted to talk to her, and she was sure she was in big trouble. Earlier that day, she had knocked down her dad's wedding picture and didn't tell. She just put it back, crack and all. She could feel the nervousness in her stomach, threatening to reveal her lunch. Her dads cared very deeply for that picture.
She shifted on the couch. When Storm and Bruce came in, she immediately knew that this "family meeting" had nothing to do with the picture. Her parents looked as n Mommy's HereOh sweet Celestia, he was coughing, again.
Pandora rolled over quickly and disentangled herself from the massive cushion of a bed and it's accompanying sheets, careful not to wake Cupcake, who was currently dead asleep. Usually, her wife would have been the first to wake and handle any situation, but not tonight. Tonight her cheeks were bright pink with fever, and her smaller body was shaking under the tight coverlet Pandora had wrapped around her. The flu. Of course it was the flu. Boils, or flies, or plagues even, and she could have snapped her fingers and done away with it. But a simple mortal disease? No cure. Of course not.
