Discord is such an interesting character. Such an eccentric old kook. It's very easy to forget he's also an ancient, immensely powerful draconic beast...
So this was a fun little experiment with lighting and mood. Discord's not really the kind of guy to go all hellfire dragon wrath, I wonder what it would take to set him off? Perhaps it'd take him getting injured, or watching the right pony be injured, or killed. I guess Discord is a silly character because if he ever got serious, he'd be very frightening indeed
I dunno, watching the Fox and the Hound made me wanna draw some snarly angry animals...but this came out distressingly reminiscent of Smaug from the flippin' Hobbit movies. Eh. The composition here is so blerg but I do like how the lighting turned out, maybe I should've thrown in a snarling Tirek too

Incredible! I think this nicely-drawn and well-polished fan drawing does a great job showing a new side to this trickster. Also, I should point out that the latest episode actually shows Discord with a similar expression to this!

I can tell it takes a lot to piss Discord off. From the show he's usually mischievous and likes trolling. Only time he got serious when he pretty much forces Fluttershy's discordance.

I imagine a lot of destruction would come from an angry discord. This is actually something we haven't seen in the show, which, after Tirek, I kind of want to now. I don't see how you could actually make Discord this angry though, it'd have to be pretty severe considering his previous moods seem very mild in comparison to this. Even when he thought he was losing, he never blew up like this.

The theme of an elementally unstable god-dragon beast only fought after slaughtering hundreds of lesser, but no less terrifying beasts, as the theme of a chaotically unstable dragon-equine personification who has truly taken the kid gloves off, AND stopped having fun....
