A birthday present I decided to make for Toku-Nakadachi or Lewis, a member of the Brainscratch Crew over on Youtube.

I've been in a bit of an art funk lately, and I've tried thinking of ideas to help me get out of it. When I saw that it was close to Lewis' birthday, I decided to make something for him. The end result is spritework of his original character, Kyo Morigana.

Spriting out Kyo was a pretty tricky process, since this is one of the more larger sprites I worked on, and I didn't want to use any of my character bases that I've used for most of my characters so far. From reading Kyo's conceptual bio ( which you can find here ) she has access to ice powers, which I tried experimenting with, but it ended up with it just being ice formed amongst the ground and some cold air surrounding her. Kyo is also mentioned to be very cocky and proud, so I tried making a pose for her to look similarly to those traits, with the hands in pockets and a "yeah, I'm awesome" look on her face.
