I just wanted to draw another stegosaur, but in color this time. Much as I love Stegosaurus, Kentrosaurus had a much more hardcore spike and plate design. I had some trouble with picking a color scheme, so I went with the Tanzanian flag, green, black, light blue and yellow. It seems to work.ΒRelated content

I like the color, but the legs are too long, particularly in front. The tail also needs to be much thicker and the belly should be deeper and broader.

Hmm, you got a point about the legs, and I'll check out the gut again. Admittedly I'm using Wikipedia pictures for the skeleton, and Scott Hartman's stuff, and the first photo I saw was a museum skeleton with the front legs splayed out like a lizard. It straighten them up and this happens. The page-crease cut off the tail, which I wanted to have "twirl" towards the viewer. I had to make due.Β

Stegosaur front legs do splay out a bit in addition to being shorter than the hind limbs, and that allows them to pivot very fast and keep their tail faced towards an attacker. Given that Kentrosaurus lived alongside the earliest carcharodontosaur, Veterupristisaurus, it's clear why. But again, particularly at the blasΓ©, that tail should be thicker and the belly deeper, coming down almost to the knees.Β

B. It needs to stop or what? World War Three? People will starve? You'll have to spend your weeks trolling everyone on the internet and avoiding real social contact and friends? Oh wait, that last one's already happened. I am using skeletal references and in the 35 years I've been doing this, you are the first to complain. Odd considering how many of your own pictures are made by drawing ovals and then slapping wings or stick-figure legs on them. And how can those birds smile when they have beaks? Or how about using photo-shop to cut a bird or dinosaur shape out of a bird's wing background? Is there a proper term for that technique, aside from "cheating?" I'll stop my horrible practices when you stop. So in other words, never. Seriously, why the hell should I stop making my work for you? Β
