Description Hestia: I guess being sick in bed isn't so bad if you're taking care of me.

so I got some good news and bad news. the bad news is these last 2 episodes SUCKED! the good news is we're getting an OVA in January and a third season in the summer of 2020 with Date A Live getting a season 4 too. now why do I say these last 2 episodes sucked well, to be clear while episode 12 has some cute moments in there the problem with this as it was with last week's episode they tried to tell the entire volume 8 story in just 2 episodes. the reason that's important is cause that particular volume remains the thickest written one to date and the cleverness in that volume is that it is multiple small stories that all tie into something which is what would've made the stuff that happens in this episode have a bigger pay off. by itself and as is you pretty much just get bell being an emotional child who has to get explained why the relationship between gods and humans is both romantic and beautiful yet a bit tragic when you get the concept of what's explained but it needed a whole other 4 episodes to lay the ground work to make the emotional pay off work and on top of that this isn't really Bell's story per say. this was actually supposed to be Welf's development story. yeah you know, Welf. the red haired guy who makes swords. yeah we were supposed to get his whole backstory in this and it ties to what the hell Ares wanted out of all this. so yeah while season 2 had okay start, a really big and well done mid season arc, and a flopped closing I think it speaks volumes in how well it managed to hold up for 10 episodes. it just sucks they chose to do one of the biggest voumes in 2 episodes where now we aren't gonna get that focus next season since we gotta move on to volumes 9 and 10 for season 3. it would've been better if the last episodes focused on side stories or something.

Well Bell is still a kid albeit a 16 year old boy who I guess you can compare to luke skywalker where Bell has a lot of romanticized ideals and he hasn't been hit with a lot of reality ordeals and I do kind of wish he nut up at the fact he's got a harem being built up here. that aside despite the characters issues I do have with Bell I do like the fact that unlike with reki kawahara in how he writes kirito, the author for danmachi is doing something similar to what Oda the creator of One Piece is doing and that's taking his time to build his characters and the world and lore in it. I don't always agree or like some of the choices he makes and I do feel like Danmachi is trying way too hard to make too many things happen at the same time which is kind of what the a certain magical/scientific index/railgun/accelerator are doing where yeah it's fine to have all these character developments happen but I guess my big concern with taking this approach is you have so much happening you end up not knowing what to do with it all when you reach the finale. that said I do like the fact the author of danmachi so far has managed to keep his characters likeable and interesting and it's managing to get success.

so all that said I don't have much to post for this last episode of the season so give your thoughts on it in the comments if you saw this last episode.
