you know watching this movie I liked Melissa fine and wouldn't mind seeing her pop up in the main story manga and she's not badly written to be fair. but that's just me since I'm not sure how you guys feel about Melissa in the movie.Melissa: So, what do you think of everything we have here on the island?

To me Melissa appears to be somewhat inspired by Gwen Stacy, one of Spider-Man's most iconic, and most tragic love interests.
She's blonde and cute but she's also got a brain, courage, and personality that compliments Deku much like how Gwen complimented Spidey.
It makes sense since Horikoshi is such a big Spider-Man fan and based a lot of Deku off of Spidey.
