I feel like this isn't how the clone technique in general works since Naruto's chakra is insanely high even without Kurama. the best explanation I can likely assume is Naruto can't concentrate properly due to his lack of sleep since he's been working since the previous day with no sleep even though medically and biologically speaking the human body can function for at least 48 to 72 hours without sleep. So it is what is and at least this is the one time you can't blame kodachi or ikemoto on the lack of forethought since this was a different author all together who wrote it in the light novel. I guess this bothers me mostly cause we've seen Naruto fight non-stop in the war arc which lasted a few days to about a week i think. like soon as he entered the battlefield he fought in various spots using clones, fought obito and madara then obito 6 sage form, then madara resurrected, then madara 6 sage mode, then madara again in 6 sage mode after being brought back from near death, then Kaguya in the span of an entire night then Sasuke for the rest of the following day after that.
