I think this series of panels really encapsulates just who Caley is as a character. Normally she's flirty, flighty and doesn't hesitate to take advantage of Jonathan if the opportunity presents itself. It can be very easy to forget that her airheaded demeanor is mostly an act to cover up the fact that she's been around since the beginning of time and has a rather intimidating amount of knowledge about life, the universe and everything.
Moreover, it's a reminder that Jonathan is basically her saviour, and while she might tease him a bit she also deeply loves him and cares about his wellbeing. Caley might not know exactly what happened during the previous chapter, but she can tell that Jonathan is suffering genuine mental and emotional distress. She doesn't take advantage, or celebrate the fact that he's basically given up. Instead she is disturbed and breaks character in order to encourage him to go back to the way he was before, even though doing so might raise the chances of Jonathan leaving at the end of the year.
tl;dr Caley is willing to break her carefully crafted persona for Jonathan's sake and it's a wonderful expression of how much she cares about him.

Wow, I thought when he was talking about giving up, he just meant sacrificing himself for the girls again. I guess that just supports Caley's point. We, the audience saw him driven mad by betrayal but I was still hoping his heroic side would shine through even in his current state. I guess it's their turn to prove that their love for him goes beyond wanting to play with him.Β

I think LDM mentioned a while back that Beryl's mods come with a reverse switch.
Just in case a slave's owner decodes they want to undo a mod and try something else. Besides, Victoria might get just the teensiest bit upset if Beryl did anything permanent to her inner circle.
