Description My mother couldn´t stand that situation much more, but the vet didn´t give us any real solution; we had to keep my cat´s belly and wait for her recovery or her death.

I looked up to the moon, but that was useless, because I could only find the satellite´s usual glow. Lowering my head, to sigh again, I saw an abandoned local. It wasn´t strange to find such places between buildings, near my home. What was strange, was that I found that there was light inside; its windows were completely covered in dust, indicating that it had been a few years from the last client.

Moved by curiosity, I peeked a bit inside and saw the remains of a public bar. Even the counter was dusty and timeworn, making me sneeze a little. Behind it, I could see a middle-aged man drinking a lot, while saying gibberish. Apparently, he didn´t hear me.

- Everything was going smoothly, until my grandmother gave me her family treasure. Like it was valuable to someone! That old hag... It is not even a real thing, just a plastic imitation of a pearl... And she said that it could help me... - He paused and drank some more.

I approached it, silently; I didn´t want to be yelled at by a drunken man.

- "It is supposed to have mystical energies that will help your desires come true." To the hell with that! Shit..! - was the last thing before he tripped over a bottle and fell off to the ground. I cried out scared, which caused, together with the man´s fall, for the fake pearl to lean towrads the edge of the counter. Almost instinctively, I extended my right hand, and catched the little sphere.

As I grasped the item, it seemed cold, but in a matter of seconds, it began to feel warm. Relieved, I looked over the counter, to see if the man was alright. He was sleeping, with the last bottle spilled over himself.

Ignoring the sleeping man, I left the local, dropping the pearl into my pocket. What I didn´t know was that the small object seemed to melt, merging quickly with my flesh after that, leaving no trace behind and without me noticing it.

When I got home, at night, I stripped off my clothes and put on my pyjama, to go moments later to bed. I covered myself with the bedclothes, and my cat joined me from the chair to my bed. She purred as both of us bgean to fall asleep.
