I can imagine Young Baki, from Baki The Grappler, learning from Mohammad Alai Sr, from the same universe.

When Baki was meeting with Yuri Chakovsky, Baki told him how Boxing was just a sport and not a martial art. How boxers wear gloves, and that there is no grabbing, no kicking, no throwing, no elbows, no knees, no headbutts, no special moves at all. And, that boxing is too incomplete to be a martial art.

But what if Baki heard of Mohammad Alai and his son around that time?

The Alai family together have actually transformed into an actual Martial Art. Mohammad Alai turned boxing into his own martial art! The Art Of Ali. He designed it to counter any kind of move from any different martial art, not just punches, but also strikes, kicks, grapples, catches, even body slams! It counters them all! It works based on his light and fluid movements and makes close range techniques like blocking and ducking as graceful as a dance.

And sting like a Bea

He also relied on swaying and stepping back, so to them, any strike, kick or tackle is no different than the fastest jab in boxing in comparison!

Mohammad Alai once faced Baki’s father, Yujiro, they had a short fight in the middle of the streets, and Alai actually managed to graze Yujiro THRICE! Leaving a scratch on his cheek and bicep, and leaving a hole in the leg of his pants! That moment, Alai earned Yujiro’s respect.

So instead of coming across Yuri Chakovsky, or maybe some time after meeting him, Baki will go and meet Mohammad Alai Sr and Jr, and would ask them to teach him the Art Of Ali, and even spar with Jr so Baki can increase his skills.

With that, it might help Baki during his first fight with Yujiro. He might be able to at least graze him like Mohammad did. He might not just graze him, but also can dodge Yujiro’s attacks better, he could learn that due to sparring with Jr.

But that’s my opinion, what do you guys think?
