"Contrast" is right. You really get a feel for how big they are when someone skinny's standing next to them.
Cody's shirt is a nice touch too. Come to think of it, the fact that his hair matches Snorlax's fur color... is actually a coincidence. I wasn't really aware of it when I designed him.

I always try to take inspiration from real models. For example, to achieve Hector I was inspired by the physical of a boy on Grommr. I even some "volunteers" willing to do the poses tailored to me (Cabba owes its appearance just a friend of mine that makes the gym). I am happy that this was noticed.
