Description A tribute to my dear and lovely friend ~irot She wanted me to sketch Keiko from Kalafina. I was glad of this request, seeming that it has been forever that I did realism, so this was a fun experience. I thank you Irot for everything and hope you like it..

I *really* like this. Realism is definitely one of your strengths. I love the textures of the hair and the headdress-thing contrast with the simplicity in her face. If you were going for exact realism, then I think you could have done more with the shading on the face. You add shadows where they are necessary, but I think you could also play up the highlights on her nose and cheekbones from the photo to give the drawing more visual depth. The face does look rather flat compared to the rest of the picture, but I think it sets off the hair details well as it is. So basically, it's a matter of what you want to convey with your style.

Also, her chin is a little too round and the ear looks a little small. But these are little nitpicks that only bug me because I actually looked at the reference image.

And I do agree that the picture looks like classical Japanese paintings/prints.

Thanks so much for the advice. Since it has been a while since I've done realism, I was a little out of practice. Dumb me. Though when I am done with the pieces I am working on now I will be doing more hopefully. I will certainly try taking the time to fixing this sketch when the time comes. I again thank you for your feedback.

Thanks so much. I used to do realism most of the time when I was still in high school and do little animation, but it ended up turning around after I graduated. I want to do more seeming how popular this piece became.

Wow. Gorgeous realism, accurate, but in your own style I see. But really this is magnificent! It has the shading in necessary places for realism (Pretty much just neck and under hair in my experience) and the hair is really nicely done. It's not like a total copy of what she looks like in the picture because it has your style in it This piece, I am very happy to view.

Thanks so much. I typically try my best to make it look identical to the drawing but it has been a while since I did realism. I am glad it came out alright.
