This is the cute little coastal town of Paraparaumu, Kapiti Coast, New Zealand. Kapiti Island is in the background.

By law, if you live in the Kapiti region and own a camera, it is required that you take photos of Kapiti Island. Failure to do so carries harsh penalties, including being put in the stocks for a full day, wearing headphones through which Justin Bieber and Nickelback are played on a constant loop, while the locals chuck vegetables at you.

So here's mine. I hated the original photo, but I've managed to wrangle a picture I rather like out of it.
