Description Can be found here on tumblr!

"The Owlman of Mawnan (or "Death Raptor") was first reported in the rural village in Cornwall, England in 1976. The creature was described by two young girls as a giant, human-sized owl. Over the next 30 years, more reports of the demonic beast were recorded. The sightings caused a collective madness in the community. Owlman is described as half-man/half-owl, 4-5 feet tall with gray feathers and large clawed feet."

Made with technical pens on A4 paper
210 × 297mm / 8.3 × 11.7 inches

Part of a project for university - we were supposed to come up with our own idea and make a series of drawings. I've been fond of cryptozoology for a while, thus I decided on the cryptids. They were part of an end-year exibition in my school and so far are ones of the few drawings I'm really proud of c: Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

wow this is amazing.  Really the only critique I can even mange is maybe tossing a little white reflection on the ey somewhere? I sort of enjoy the ambigious lighting though so it'snot at all a necessity to alter.  The whole series is amazing.  I'd love to see them in some kind of display all together!

This one has to be the best, those clouds, I dont know if you had white pens on black paper or black pens and left the clouds out of the inking, but they're fantastic! The crumbling tower next to the seaside gives it a  overall eerie feel, like you can almost see the fog rolling in. Killer linework on the face, you were really able to put a sense if depth and lack of emotion, just like a real owl, even when his body language is human.
Came out sounding more like a critique then a compliment...cheers anyway!

Wow. These look good from a distance, but when I zoomed in the pen work is awesome. You have the skills I'm only used to seeing in very old illustrations.

This is incredible. It balances simple shapes and a kickass inking that makes it come alive to look you straight in the eyes.
