Description Let the Ducky introduce ya to Felix!! I got Felix, who was named by , on Martin Luther Weekend. Me Cousin Theresa works with Pet Rescue of Mercer County, an organization and network of caring people, who rescue pets who are either abandoned, neglected, or abused. As stated in me Journal, Theresa alerted me to a pair of cats, named Sugar and Lucky, whose owner had passed away. Those cats were quickly adopted to another loving family. So Theresa also notified me about a lovely Tuxedo Cat named Luther.

Luther's foster mother said that he was probably owned by a family who lived in the apartments up the street from her, and I guess they moved out and could not take Luther with them, so they left him behind. Luther was found living in her garage, and she quickly brought him inside as he was declawed and very hungry. Although Luther was the love of her life, she couldn't keep him as she had 3 other cats who were terrified of Luther. She informed Pet Rescue of Mercer about him, and he went on Petfinders.com. Finally, the Ducky found about him, completely fell in love with him, and now Luther has a permanent home here in Burlington.

and I renamed him Felix as we thought it was a better fit for a kitter cat

He like Whiskey before him just loves this chair

Aww, I so love kitter cats too And me allergist told me that I too am allergic to them and should stay away. But I told him, that I can live without cats in me life, and that's the reason I take Benadryl twice a day! Hey, I'm allergic to dust, mold, pollen, and other stuff as well What does me allergist want me to do? Live in a bubble? But if your allergies are severe enough, then ya shouldn't have one

Actually, I have been taking Benadryl since I was 12 years old Tis really has no effect on me that way

aww! he's so adorable! we lost Ashton on valentine's day but we're gettin a new kitten soon. it'll probably be a black cat named Zara if it's a girl or Zorro if its a boy. And aww! sorry to hear about Whiskey. he was a good russian blue!

its ok. thank you for your condolences i actually have a question to ask you. how did you end up getting Felix? cause yesterday, we actually applied for a 9 week old kitten. but after we gave the application to the petsmart employee, she told my mom that 5 other people have already applied for the same kitten. its like there's a competition going on & i don't wanna fight people for an animal. i just wanna bring one home. what's the best way to win these "competitions?"

Sorry for the late reply Actually, the kitter cats in Petsmart are owned and cared for by a Pet Rescue Group, like me cousin's group Mercer Pet Rescue. Petsmart just acts as a liason and sometimes a representative from the rescue group will be on hand to answer any questions, let ya hold the kitty, and accept your application The groups receive the applications on their kittens or cats and based on the answers you give on the application, they will make their choice. I hate to say this, but if your mother put "prefers declawing" she won't get the kitter cat, as most groups are against declawing. So ya just tell a wee lie and say that ya won't declaw the cat, then take it to the vet to have the cat declawed. As long as tis safe to declaw the cat, then why not? Even me cousin couldn't understand the logic behind the rule, because predeclawed cats ALWAYS GET adopted first!!!

thank you for all of your advice! one of the big problems i have now is that there are no kittens are the pet store yet. the one in freehold mall told me that they'd be gettin kittens starting in mid April, which is coming up soon.

when we applied for that white kitten 5 or 6 weeks ago, we put down "Undecided" when it came to the question of whether we would declaw it or not. but the mistake we made was TELLING the foster owners that we were going to declaw them, that we have to because we have 2 hamsters & we need to protect them. i won't mention that ever again though.

i've only seen 1 cat that's already been declawed. it was several years ago when Ashton was still alive. it was a Siamese cat & i couldn't believe that it was already declawed because i thought pet stores didn't believe in doing that procedure.

we have a black cat in our backyard (that I named Shadow) that has been living there for almost a year now (it'll be a year next month). she's one month shy of being 1 year old & we seriously think she's pregnant! & i'm really hoping that she gives birth in or around my yard so that i can take one of her babies & i'll have a kitten that way. it seems a lot easier since there are no applications involved. i hope it works out!

Well maybe your best bet would be to go to an animal shelter, such as Hamilton Township and pick up a wee kitten But take your time I can get in contact with the person I know from Mercer Pet Rescue if ya like Just don't tell them about the declawing That wee secret remains between us Yeah, if ya put down undecided or ya told them out right about the declawing, chances are ya won't get the kitty. Again, I don't know their reasoning behind this because tis does limit the pool of adopters, but I'm not the one running the show. Does it have to be a kitten? Sometimes adopting a kitter cat can be just as friendly and nice to have

Oh tis the name, is it? Yuppers, me father and I have been feeding this adorabley cute Tuxedo Cat! But any kittens from this cat may be feral, so it may not be all that friendly.

thank you. i'll let you know. my mom says she'd rather not get a cat from a shelter because they could be mean & we want a nice cat. so gettin a cat from a shelter would be the last resort. if everything else fails (pet store application, Shadow's baby) then maybe we'll just go to a shelter.

i prefer to get a kitten (4 months old or younger) cause i had Ashton since he was a kitten & had 15 awesome years with him. for me, its about the amount of time i'll have with it. the younger it is, the more time i'll be able to enjoy it.

on the contrary to what you said about feral or stray cats being unfriendly, Shadow & Silver (her brother) are the sweetest & friendliest stray cats i've ever met. they only became this way cause my mom & i tamed & petted them since they were babies.

as for Shadow being pregnant, i strongly believe that she is cause her belly's really bulging out. she must have at least 5-6 kittens in there! lol! but, if things don't work out with her babies (i never see them or it turns out she's not pregnant at all) then i'm gonna beg my mom to take Silver or Shadow in. i know they're already 1 year old, which to me, is too old, but i've known both of them since they were a only few weeks old. so i would be ok with taking either one of them in as 1 year olds.

my mom & i are also talking about getting Shadow fixed so that she won't get pregnant again. is there any way to do that without taking her to a shelter or the vet? we just wanna fix her & then bring her back to my yard, where she's free & happy
