Believe it or not, white school glue. I used the no-run stuff for the walls, and regular cheap-o for the dirt

There is a thin bit of balsa wood as the base over which I smeared the sand-glue mix.

Ork terrain seems fun to build, you just cram bits of metal into rough shapes and paint it to look... spikey

It's really not that hard, it's all glue, sand, and pebbles... and flock, lots of flock.
