Assuming you're using windows:
Open the mouse settings (open the start menu and type "mouse" to find the mouse settings). Go to the "Pointers" tab. Select one of the cursor variants in the list and then hit the "Browse..." button to choose one of the files provided in this download.

oh, these are fabulously delightful. but. erm. there isn't an alternate select. heh. I was putting together a set to save so I could use them, but there wasn't anything for the alternate. I used the white normal as I was doing a black set and it was obviously different, but. heh. an actual alternate cursor would be nice. How do you edit cursors? is there a certain program you need to use? I think just having the gold arrow thing without any circle would be good for alternate select.
