"Huh??? Look, it's Class 1-A! The class that's supposedly better than us! Wouldn't that be an insult to us though considering how stupid they look???"

You groaned, letting out a tired irritated sigh as your blonde boyfriend was his usual cocky self.

"I know, (y/n), they are groan worthy, aren't they? They should all just drop out and let the real-!" His rant was blessedly cut off with a chop to the head from Kendo, the girl in question giving you a sympathetic smile.

"Honestly (y/n), I don't know how someone like him managed to get someone like you to go out with him. You must have the patience of a saint." Either that or you were just horribly indecisive about whether you wanted to be with him or not.

At that you shrugged, an exasperated sigh escaping your lips. "Sometimes I ask myself the same thing." Tilting your head to the side, you stared down at Monoma, foolishly passed out on his face. At times like this it was especially easy for you to ask yourself why you were still with him. It wasn't like you were desperate for a boyfriend and there were plenty of other respectable boys at U.A. so...why Monoma?

Deep down, you knew why. Because you found yourself wanting to hold his hand. Because you loved being with him, loved the person you were when you were with him. Because you couldn't help the smile that appeared on your face whenever he pulled you into a hug and pressed his loving kisses to your temple. Because, despite yourself, you loved him, cocky attitude and all.

Monoma was different from all the other boys you had ever met. You had never imagined arrogance and unconditional love could exist in the same person, but the blonde was a special case. The two contradicted each other, one negative and cruel while the other was warm and dream-like. In Monoma Neito, you discovered both, coexisting in their own unique way.

You, nor anyone else in Class 2-B, could ever have guessed he would be so affectionate, but as soon as you accepted his repeated date proposals, you found yourself showered with hugs and kisses on a daily basis. It was unusual to see one of you without the other, his arm missing from its home around your waist, and quite a few of your friends had teased you and him about being attached at the hip. By no means was Monoma a neglectful boyfriend, surprisingly enough. He never forgot your birthday, or an anniversary, or even a simple date.

All in all, the blonde left little to be desired as a boyfriend. His personality however...that was a different matter. Monoma was haughty, that was for sure, but the mere mention of Class 1-A made his usually bearable levels of haughtiness unbearable. In fact, you were starting to think he had some sort of obsessive disorder with 1-A. You couldn't help but feel embarrassed every time he made a scene, which in turn made you feel ashamed for being embarrassed of your boyfriend. More than once you had laid awake at night, wondering why you were still with him, where you could go if you left him.

Did you really want to leave him though?

As much as you didn't want to sometimes, you loved Monoma all the same. Undeniably, it would hurt you to cut off your relationship with him, but wouldn't it be healthier for you in the long run?

A groan from the boy still collapsed at your feet made you blink, snapping you out of your conflicted thoughts. Befuddled blue eyes peered up at you, one hand reaching up to gingerly touch the forming lump on the back of his head. His eyes widened as they focused on your face and a soft "Wow" left him on a breath.

"What?" you asked, raising an eyebrow. One more cocky comment out of him and you swore you were going to wrap your hands around his-

"My girlfriend is so beautiful."

Your eyes widened and your lips parted just the slightest. A pale hand reached up and brushed stray hairs away from your face, his fingers trailing over your cheek in the slightest of contacts. The mocking smirk that had been present on his face before was gone, replaced by a tender, adoring look he only ever gave you.

Oh...this was why you loved him. Because, flaws and all, he loved you. Monoma had his flaws, certainly, but so did you, and at the end of the day he loved you no matter what, giving you that same loving look.

"(Y/n)?" he murmured your name, eyes tracing your face.

"Yes?" you answered, just as softly.

"I love you."

A smile broke out across your face. "I love you, too, Neito." And you meant it because that's part of what love was wasn't it? Loving despite flaws? "I love you, anyway."

Monoma blinked. "Anyway?"

You shook your head, rising from your crouched position. "I'll tell you later." Smiling, you offered him a hand. "We should get to class. Can't let 1-A get ahead of us, can we?" you added with a wink.

Monoma smirked, taking your hand and hauling himself to his feet. Pressing an adoring kiss to your cheek, he said, "Get ahead of my girlfriend? Impossible. She's already the best there is~."
