Description
God of ecological fertility, peace, sunshine, prosperity and bountiful harvests, Frey is a member of the Vanir and the twin brother of Freya and the son of Njord but his mother's name is unknown. Frey was a very popular god with mortals and cuts a benevolent figure as his presence provided fair weather and good harvests, he was called "the most renowned of the Aesir" and "hated by none". Frey is also popular with the gods, being gifted the realm of the elves Álfheimr and had no shortage of female love interests but ultimately fell for the jötunn Gerðr, however, to be able to marry her he had to give up his magic sword (which can fight by itself if the wielder is deemed wise enough) to the jötunn, this will leave Frey with nothing but an antler in which to fight the fire jötunn Surtr leading to his death during Ragnarok. Frey's other notable attributes are his shining boar Gullinbursti who was made for him by the dwarves to ride and his ship Skíðblaðnir which shrinks into his pocket and always brings favourable winds.

His symbols are boars and pigs and his, erm, large erect phallus (not pictured).
