The ToQwa live in a matriarchal society. There are many different tribes across the planet, each tribe is subservient to its own Queen Mother.

They are a bipedal species, their planet, ToQ, has an atmosphere very similar to earth, with a very dry, rocky, mountainous terrain.

They have mastered space travel and have relations with other alien races throughout the galaxy, though each tribe is able to maintain its own unique relationship with the galaxy at large.

Some of the tribes have a history or conflict with one another, some are allied, some are neutral and stand alone.

The species was once hunted by bounty hunters and poachers from around the galaxy for their tusks, which are composed of an element unique to this planet and this race. The material is said to have many healing and restorative properties, though many feel this is merely a superstition or myth.

This history of being hunted has prompted the ToQwa to become extremely resilient in the face of adversity. Their planetary defenses are legendary, with each tribe working together for the entire planet's security. Also, each individual tribe has constructed its own protection as a secondary defense from outside forces but also from other ToQwa tribes.

This proficiency has garnered them a reputation for defensive technology and the tribes themselves compete with one another as it is one of their main planetary exports.
