Ah, I heard the story about the two brothers, too. Hm, in general I think there are as many possibilities as there are in our real lives regarding gods and demons. The story about Sithis I'm most familiar with says that he's no Daedra or anything, but the beginning of everything. The void and Sithis stand at the beginning, and everything, including Oblivion and the Daedra.

i think that if you owe your soul to everyone for example : werewolf=hircine, nightingale= nocturnal, kill alduin= sovngarde i think you just take turns and after your debt is paid you go to afterlife of your choice

mix sanguines and hircines together and i think ya get soverngarde. sanguines full of drinking and other crap and hircine is full of hunting/fighting. i frankly think that once your time guarding nocturnals temple is done you become a servant in the other side. frankly i would rather go to azura's if it didnt blind me.

Hm, I guess there isn't too much known about this stuff. So one can turn it a bit, meaning... I don't think that any Daedra would let a soul go, neither would Sithis. Then again someone has to back off, because the soul cannot be split... or can it?
And then there are the gods and Sovengarde...
AND it is written... that the soul of someone who was killed by an assassin of the Dark Brotherbood from now on belongs to Sithis. But... would a hero of the Nords, who's soul was destined for Sovengarde because he lived a good and heroic live, now go to the void, just because some assassin came and killed him? ... Oo

now thats a thought. and what about soulgems? once trapped who knows how long till your enchanted out and after that how long if at all till your soul wears off of armor or gets faught out of a weapon? i think the soul can be split, with enchanting of 50 or so you can take five percent of a soul to recharge your weapon.
and by khajiit lore the gods and deadra are all decendant from the clan father and mother so perhaps why the gods got the vast expance of nirn and sovengarde is mearly because they are older.

Hmm... about the soulgems, there's something in the game. But I don't know if you know, so I'll say nothing for now.
Well, actually Nirn's religions are the same as ours. Not exactly of course. But... Christians say this, Moslems say that, atheists say... and so on. Every believer is holy/ worthy/ etc and every non-believer is unworthy/ filthy/ etc. At least if you go for extremes. Plus no one knows the truth, or if there is any... Which god is the right one? Which exists, which doesn't? No one has ever seen him/ them. Well of course in the Elder Scrolls that's different because you can see at least the Daedra and talk to them, sometimes in person.
Yet no one knows which Aedra or Daedra is the "best". That's simply a question of personal preference, or what you ran into, and which help you hope to get... or so.

Poor Charly.
I thought that all the time I saw you drawing it. And I still think it.
First of all: I love the idea of that. Charly sold his soul to nearly every Daedra he could find - and to Sithis, Mara and Dibella, too, however that works together xD - and that just must be what awaits him in Oblivion.
Second: I, too, love how this turned out. The shading is beautiful, as always, and Charles' facial expression really speaks of his torment. It was a great idea not to draw irises and pupils, so he seems more dead. You did a great job on the chain, as well, that ends in, like, nowhere (as in 'the void'? xD). And, of course, the Deadra in the background are great, too.
By the way: As Sithis is the Dread Father, 'his' would be alright with him, I guess.
