This is one of my last works made at school, something different than usual: a collage.

Using a photo/image as reference, we had to re-make said image using random pieces of paper from various issues/other stock images given to us by the teachers. To give a mosaic effect. ^_^

the person I chose to depict is Pearl Bailey. She was a famous singer back in the 40s and 50s. She was mostly a blues singer, rather than a Jazz singer like Ella Fitzgerald or Louis Armstrong.

She was inspired by singers like Bessie Smith, who was very famous in the 30s.

She was a very charismatic figure at the time, and contibuted on the diffusion of black people in the music industry.

I love her. <3
