Description

Here's the first drawing of my new series! It's myth-related, again. XD

I decided to draw all the gods from Greek mythology, at least the most famous and the most curious ones. I'll include some infos about them in each update; there are many curious facts that many people don't usually know about these Gods, and I wanted to share them with you!

Let's start with the most famous one: meet Zeus, king of all the Greek Gods and ruler of the skies.

He reigns over the heavens along with Hera, his wife and queen.

Zeus is very famous for his weapon, a lightning that he uses as a javelin. He's also very famous for having a pretty vast offspring: he had been on so many relationships, apart from the one with Hera, that they are difficult to count!

He had hundreds of sons and daughters, some of which are very important: Ares, Athena, Hermes and Hephaestus are some of the most famous ones.

He also gave birth to lots of demigods, because he loved to mess around with mortal women and nymphs of various kinds.

Some of those offsprings are Hercules , Perseus, Minos and even the Nemean Lion

Zeus is also part of the twelve most important Olympians in the Pantheon.

One more important thing about him is that he saved his brothers Poseidon and Hades by slaying his father Cronus, because he had eaten them.

As for the design, I thought that it would've been funny to draw him as a very robust but short man, even though he's the ruler of all the gods and so he should look mighty and powerful.

I also gave importance to the little details like the drawings on his drappings, or his freckles. I had imagined him to have brown hair, when he was younger (immortal beings are not supposed to age, but whatever XD).

More drawings of gods are coming! Hope you'll enjoy this new series and my personal take on these characters.

PS: maybe you'll recognize him, or you'll think you have already seen him somewhere: well, it's because I used his looks to represent the Zeus I drew for a contest, a while ago. You can see the drawing here (plus, have some more random art):

Why is Zeus the oldest? Wasn’t he the last child of Cronus and Rhea?

Technically yes, but some people draw him older than his brothers, as if they never grew up inside Cronus’ belly... which makes Zeus look older, since he was actually raised in the outside world.
It’s kinda strange, but it sticked with that view ahah!

L'espressione di Zeus è impagabile. Mi ispira badasseria pura.

Ahah, qualcuno deve averlo fatto incazzare. Meno male che ispira figaggine, dopotutto è il re degli dei! Se non è badass lui...! XD
