So I recently discovered Pokefarm... And while I was on the forums I found tons of art-related contests!! hurray!

Most of them are pokemon related (duh) and the one I found most interesting was a guy who created a contest where 10 people would "fight" with art every week and get eliminated one by one until 10 weeks later we would have a winner, who would be the best artist.

I though it was brilliant! It would force me to draw more, and could prove challenging

The 1st challenge on the 1st week was to draw a fake eeveelution. These are the preliminary design sketches, I'll be working on the final during the week.

So I started by drawing what ever came to mind first when thinking about one of eevee's potential evolution and type. I started witht he fighting one, and was more or less inspired by monks, with they beads necklace and I was going for a brownish color scheme. This one looked pretty good but I wanted to try others before deciding, so I moved on to ghost.

Eventually ghost is the one I chose. It started off looking more or less like a ghastly and I though it was pretty lame! I did some sketches for a bug eevee and a poison one, but they didn't really appeal to me... I went to bed thinking about it and started changing the ghost one in my head. I felt it had potential but the sketch I had done earlier was too simple!

I think it was around 3AM I had a flash. I decided to add a cat skull and a floating tag on the sides. Suddently it was looking much better, so the next day I redid my sketches with my new ideas and moved on to the colors.
I decided to make the smoke transparent, and the tag a spelltag from the game itself.

I was thinking something along the lines of... Cerbereon
