I like to imagine that Jack arrived at CHAANK when he was kid, and was very resevered and shy for the first couple of months/weeks... then he enventually figured out that he could do pretty much everything he wanted and get everything he asked for as long as he kept making weapons. Then, he probably became the most annoying kid who ever lived. Bothering people when he's bored, drawing on the walls, etc...
(Actually, this little fanfic is a pretty good exemple of how I imagine pre-CHAANK!Jack 
I would SO watch that show. ALL THE TIME.

Hm.... well, the same author has another DM fic, but it's an AU in which Jack is a vampire 
There's only one other fic that I can think of that has a pre!CHAANK setting, and it's this one: [link] I like it, but it's pretty old and it stops at 3 chapters too, sadly. Also, really frustrating cliffhanger ending.
