Love the contrast in this

I'm always getting weird looks when I'm out with my camera... you learn to ignore it lol. I used to be from Brum btw... well, I used to work in Brum and live in Bilston, but there ya go.

thank you very much and bilston you say. that's the black country isn't it, where people talk the way people think brummies talk (if that makes sense) i suppose you didn't grow up there though

Yes, it is, and indeed I didn't grow up there lol. I only lived there for a year or so I think, used to get the tram into Brum everyday for work. I work from home now, so much better! lol

I used to like going into Birmingham, oddly enough... it's a city whose center I actually enjoy being in. Having said that, I haven't been back there in a good 4+ years now, so perhaps it's changed a bit since last time I was there lol

i think you might have seen the new Bullring shopping centre then. that was completed in 2003 i think. much better with that there. oh and i love the selfridges building. some people hate the architecture of it, but i think it's great

Yeah, I love the new bullring... I desperately want to go back up there and take photos of it! lol

I see that usually you do portrait photography but this is a nice capture.

thank you. i suppose i choose portrait photography normally because I'm too shy to go out there and take pictures that I really want to take pictures of. i'd look pretty odd around here if i photographed the things i see in the street that i look at and think 'wow that would make an excellent photo'

A shy photographer? That's cute, usually they throw themselves in a little more.
Maybe going around with a friend will help you to build up more confidence.
Sounds like if that's the case there's a lot of potential you're not showing us!

thank you very much I do wish I could take some photographs at this street where i work. it's a mix of cultures and very interesting. sometimes while i'm driving up in the rush hour traffic, i see these moments that i just want to capture. but that's another thing, people would think im a weirdo taking pics of them in the street!

hmm I see you're from brum, so I'm not surprised you got a whole mix of cultures there.
I can see some very very interesting works that can come from you, get yourself stuck in!
I'm not a photography by trait, I just got an interest in it, but as a design student let me say to use your moments well.
Capture everything that even seems remotely interesting to you.
And don't think of it as weird, it's part of the interest. I walk around and draw stuff from observation and I get looked at.

yep, brum certainly has it's fair share of culture.
maybe i will start to get more into it, but I will try to do it discreetly myself! then i will probably be looked at as some sort of peeping tomgirl!

I'm really looking forward to it! But mind you everyones a 'eeping tom' to an extent. Artists, designers, photographers we're supposed to observe.
