  Blueblood and Sapphire Shores were a pretty unexpected couple. It happened on one highly coincidental night that seemed to align perfectly to allow them to meet. Of course they’ve known of each other for most of their respective lives, but they officially met at a showing of Bridleway’s “Chicoltgo.” Without fully realizing each other's identities, they somehow realized they each shared a love for musicals and they started chattin' it up about the show's themes. They end up ditching the dates they brought for posterity and explore Manehatten's great nighttime places. Blueblood finds himself enamored with this strong-willed, confident and funny mare that sung every other sentence. Sapphire unintentionally treated him like any other pony, and he found himself really enjoying the casualness of their conversation. Sapphire Shores loved that this stallion with an annoyingly snobbish voice patiently listened to her, quietly soaking in everything she said with the patience no other boy would give to her. Though, she had no idea he was THE Prince Blueblood, and dismissed his annoyingly snobbish voice and overly classy gait and fancy hair as sad attempts to impress her. Much to her embarrassment, confusion and horror when she woke up alone in his bed, supposedly after a blackout night of drinking and sloppy sex with one of the most notorious womanizers in existence.

"Oh fuck me...girl, how did you let this happen?" Sapphire felt icky. Used. Just another notch in Blueblood's figurative belt...but she was Sapphire motherFUCKIN Shores! It was her job to check the egos of pompous stallions as they made themselves entitled to her. She was a Queen who let her guard down, only to be dethroned by a smug little prince. How dare that stallion wine and dine her like he did any other mare? No fuckin way would he be permitted to get away with this. Sapphire would not be reduced to yet another gold-digging hussy living between Blueblood's sheets and checkbook by nosy paparazzi. Normally, the tabloids could say whatever they wanted about her...but this was a matter of her power as a mare being taken away. Little fillies at home needed her to be more than just the Pony of Pop. She had to show them they had power too.

   So Sapphire asked Blueblood on more dates disguised as friendly field trips. He gleefully responded, eager to spend more time with her for reasons he barely understood. They kept going on dates until it was very clear they would be more than friends-with-benefits. Sapphire eventually didn't need to demand power from Blueblood...instead he gave it to her freely, and in turn, she didn't ask too many questions about his true lifestyle outside of being a prince. They're never married, but they do eventually have a daughter named Marshmallow Kiss.

His family knows very little about what he's done. Heck, ponies in general know very little about him, but as long as he keeps up his appearance, Blueblood is safe from overly prying eyes. And if nosy ponies do get too far, he'll simply solve that in his own way too.

-Princes in Equestria keep their rank for life, never descending or ascending in power even if their princess divorces them, or if they lose their positions of political or military power. Princehood can he hereditary, but a stallion can also marry into royalty.

-Blueblood is the first mixed race member of the Diamond lineage, being the child of a golden zebra stallion and a unicorn mare. For the longest time, he covered up his stripes with make-up or magic due to his identity as a Diamond constantly coming into question. Until he realized that in the broad scheme of things, the way he looked didn't determine his position in the world. Sapphire thinks his stripes are sexy af, and that she'll literally sock anyone who says otherwise. Blueblood appreciates the sentiment, but he reminds her that he's a diplomat...so allowing his girlfriend assault his guests, no matter what they said, would most assuredly put him out of a job.

-Blueblood hardly knew his parents, and he's not entirely sure where he was born. All he knows was that he was brought to Celestia as a toddler, to be raised by a willing Canterlot couple and have his princehod immediately recognized. He has done much research on his ancestry, and he does not like everything he has seen.

Unlike her family, she was extremely talkative and outgoing, always eager to be the center of attention. She had enough sass for the entire neighborhood, and everyone loved her despite how annoying, inappropriate and loud she could be. She always dreamed of being a marine biologist, but due to her living circumstances, she could not get the proper education to break into it. Naturally her favorite animals were dolphins, and she dreamed - quite literally - of the day she would swim with them. After achieving success as a comedian and super pop star, the "Pony of Pop," she finally lived her childhood dream of swimming with dolphins.

In doing so however, she realized she was a changed mare and that maaaybe she wasn't ever really interested in biology but rather the fantastical concept of being "one with the animals." While she still loves animals and supports many conservation groups, she knew she was destined to be a popstar. She also directed her attention toward being a bombastic and inspiring mare for fillies to look up to. To be a woman confident in herself and her principles. A woman who doesn't regret being herself. She passes on this mentality to her daughter. The two were very close, although even Sapphire can't protect her baby girl from the claws of those eager to use her talent for themselves.

-Sapphire has a large family that she sends a large contribution of her income to. Although Sapphire easily adopted the refined taste of Canterlot, her favorite food remains to be the hearty, corn and rice-based meals her father cooked.

  ◊◊Marshmallow Kiss has kind of a stressed relationship with her parents, although she doesn't really let it show. Most of her formative years were spent with Clarabelle, Sweetiebelle, and the Apple family, so hanging out with her parents can be a little awkward and intimidating. No doubt her parents love her. They constantly shower her with everything she wants and she's a famous pop star. Sapphire sends her postcards from around the world and her dad sends her expensive gifts she can show off to the rest of the world. Nothing is wrong with her family and everything is perfect in the life of Marshmallow.

Okay, I ended up liking this couple a lot. I also started to feel a little uneasy toward Blueblood's misogyny. Don't get me wrong, I think it suits him very well, but then I thought...maybe he's done much worse than commit sexism. Maybe he's done much worse than manipulate money. Maybe, just maybe, he's done worse than fund black projects with dark money brought by the numerous non-profits and insurance companies he oversees. And maybe, I'll go into further detail on this.
