I was pretty bored this weekend... So bored, in fact, that when I stumbled across Ghostbusters 2 on cable I actually watched it from start to finish.Bad times.
But I do love the original... I actually went to the cinema to see Gremlins that night and wasn't allowed in (it was a 15 and I was not). So, we walked across Leciester Square, got in line for Ghostbusters and had pretty much the best night I'd had at the cinema since Star Wars.
Yep, I'm that guy.
Anyway, here is Ghostbusters in my usual late fifties animation style... You may be bored of this schtick but I LOVE it.

He was never on the poster for the original Ghostbusters... Don't know why. When I get around to doing Ghostbusters 2, then you get a good dose of Winston action.

It's a whole lot of fun to work with... Tricky if you want people to look like someone recognisable though (my apologies to Bill Murray for this one).

Just watched Gremlins 2 last night, and I'm watching Ghostbusters 2 now. Which makes my brain ask if the Gremlins were in New York during their second outing, dhouldn't someone have called the Ghostbusters?
I don't know if the proton packs would acually do anything to them, but it is an interesting and kinda obvious opportunity for a crossover

Not that I have an issue with bland, samey and mind numbingly generic 'art'... I mean, the folks who make Lightbox's have got make a solid living off of someone and a bunch of kids who want to trace figures and wish they had spikey blue hair are as good as the next man... Right?
But then, I feel much the same way about most of the 'innovative' rockabilly stuff I get to see.
It sure is an exciting world we live in.

I'd been doing Rockabilly'esque art and Pin-Ups for over a decade and I got nothin' because I didn't live in Los Angeles or New York... just couldn't pimp it properly. The irony now is that I now live in LA, but I could care less about doing rockabilly specific stuff. Its lost its luster for me.

Well... I'll be slipping on the ninja shoes and quietly slipping into a dark nook, somewhere in your house.
I'll begin with some moderate lurking I think... Best to save the really sneaky stuff for when you unleash your 'something new'. Then it'll be tippy toes, camo pants and some swell night vision goggles!

I suggest hiding out in the spare room/office/library/art studio.
Its a mess in there (as you can imagine from its description), and since I hate cleaning its your best bet if you plan to go undetected for any length of time. I'll leave some cookies in there for ya.

Here's a wild thought... Bill Murray played Venkman in Ghostbusters. Lorenzo Cool did the voice for Venkman in The Real Ghostbusters cartoon. Lorenzo Cool was also the voice of Garfield in the animated cartoon series... And the voice of Garfield in the live action movies was provided by non other than... Billy Murray!
