Description
Kolei is a gentle brother with an evil root, so says , the creator of Kolei.I wanted to draw another character, but as I thought, he will been the subject of many fanarts already, so I decided to do his brother. Kolei intrigues me in E-Depth and I wonder about his role in 2Masters.
I don't use blue or gray as base colors often so this was a little hard for me, but fun! Didn't turn out the way i wanted it to, but it still grasps the emotion I think I wanted it to.

The reason I REALLY love this one is because of the color.... It sets the mood. && I also love that you did this in (i think) watercolor. Keep the traditional art work going.

It is moody, though i don't think I had that intention when I did it. I learned alot with this piece.

I am so fruggle with my paints it's not even funny. I have tired to emulate your style with watercolor one time and loved it, but I don't feel very free when I do.

well, i can feel alot when i look at it, the colors and the way the character is sitting kinda makes u think, "wow, this person's life seems very....."
i think the persons life is pretty dark, maybe not so happy (or hes just thinking in the midst of a storm, that's what i lik 2 do

Firstly, your color choices really work for this. I like the moodiness of the piece. It feels still, almost brooding, but the wind-blown hair and sash imbue it with movement and life. I can practically feel the chill, first-gray-of-dawn air whipping against my skin and hear the dull roar of the waves. Beautiful.
... Also, I am in great admiration of anyone who can get watercolors to produce even an approximation of what they intend! I am quite hopeless with them!

I was never good with watercolor at first either. Resently that was all I had here (I am over seas and missing my oil paints something horably...) Having only this to paint with has forced me to grow better in it. I have always liked watercolor though. Its always been a calming strange randomness. Water is hard to contol...

For some reason, just me looking at it makes it feel symbolic in a way, like this piece is trying to tell me something.
Besides that, you have some beautiful colors for this one, and everything seems to blend in fully. Did you use watercolors on canvas? Whether you have or no, though, it's still astounding.

I did this with watercolor on watercolor paper.
I am glad its trying to speak to you. Not sure what its trying to say. Unlike most of my pieces, this one had no story in mind when I went to paint. Please feel free to make one!

What an absolutely amazing piece! I love the fact that you chose watercolor here, since it makes the scene seem moody and faded, which suits the pose and quiet, stormy atmosphere perfectly.
My only complaint might be that the shadow doesn't entirely match the figure, and that it seems like you should be able to see at least a part of the right foot and leg.

I thought the foot thing. when I drew his frame his foot was there, but now behind the sash I drew. The shading I had not thought of that. I will pay closer attention the next time I paint. Thats for the sugation!! They will readly help me!!

for about....2 maybe 3 years? A good friend of mine on here called Feyth taught me his style on day and ever since I've been feuled to draw manga! This like...whole world of japanese comics and wonder got me fixed and I've been filling my sketchbooks to this day! X3

I didnt realize how much I need to to study from life to get better at things from our heads ^.^!! but keep up what you are doing now too!

i like how this painting captures the emotion through its combinations of color. DOn't worry if it didn't come out how you wanted it to just work with it and who knows you may get something entirely new but worth it. this is really good keep up the good work

It was to be dawn (though it looks like early morning) hence the title. I am really shy with very dark colors x.x it will take practice before I can nail dawn ^.^;;
