Description
This is my entry to Bird of the Week (Snowy Owl) challenge and to Winter Birds contest.I hope you like it.

A friend of mine in Germany studied Portuguese. It sounds beautiful!
I had a Snowy flying right over my head - I could feel the wind in my hair - once. First it came from behind, then it flew up over the trees back down again. It looked me straight in my eyes - which is how I know they have those beautiful amber eyes - before it pulled up, just in time to skim over my head... A stunning experience! And my reason for being biased!

Everybody that learns portuguese say that it's difficult but that like to learn it.. your friend didn't teach you some word in portuguese?

There are about 100+ images, statues, cartoons, note paper, etc. of horned owls (and a few other species) in my house. The collection I never collected. I bought 3 of them and then friends noticed and started giving them to me at first as gifts thinking I was collecting them but when I protested I only bought the original 3 because they were so different, they then did it as a joke. To this day, the collection continues to grow beyond my control.

Yes, I love seeing them and our Harris Hawks - the only raptor who hunts in a pack. That's awesome to watch.

I wouldn't mind being one of the big cats, puma, tiger, leopard, cheetah, etc. either. But, I think the stoop speeds and the eyesight of the raptors would be wonderful and a little more of a draw for me.

Yeah, if I hadn't been so busy riding and jumping horses in my youth, I had even toyed with the idea of the air force just to fly fighter jets - what a rush that would have been.

You are always on time to learn to pilot aeroplanes.

Regular airplanes don't hold the same charm that jets do although I know you have to start with them. I couldn't qualify for jets anymore because of ocular implants which can't take enough g-forces so I see little point in starting something which will never lead me to the goal I really want. Just flying a jet wasn't the point. (More like Top Gun stuff was what I had in mind. Yessss!
