Description This was submitted by me to the American Pain Foundation. They have art submissions yearly.

The artwork be it video, digital art, or a quilt or canvas is submitted to the APF and depicts what that particular person feels like living with Chronic Pain.

I have lived in pain for 18 years and it's increasingly difficult to get treatment sometimes due to public misunderstanding.

I have a good doctor now who isn't afraid of painers like me but before he came along...that is what it felt like.

"Trapped" says it all. Feeling cornered and powerless.

September is Pain Awareness Month so this seems a good time.

Dealing with ignorance, "Narcophobia", and misunderstanding about the meds that we have to use or be "Trapped" and potential suicide is part of daily life for us.

Well...we do feel like that on inside as well when we try to get pain management that really helps...the fear and frustration are really difficult. The DEA and people who do stupid things with drugs and lie to doctors just to get drugs have effected us and our ability to get treatment in some pretty awful ways.

Oh my. It really is a strong painting. And while it does show the meaning of your description very well, it could also be seen as pain felt on the inside b/c of something or someone... but that's ranting.

Very well done. I like the anomynimity by not showing the features.

Good job.
