there was supposed to be monster dust there as well, idk if you can identify it...

Before they were trapped in a mirror, Chara wasn't a bad person, but they had had a rough life - their parents, already abusive, decided to abandon them when the War of Humans and Monsters had just started. From there on, Chara was forced to battle against both humans and monsters, slowly losing their own capacity to love.

I wouldn't say their LOVE (Level of Violence) reached the maximum, because Chara still struggled to run away rather than fight. However, in order to survive, sacrifices were to be made.
