I hope these help you guys...I guess they choose Merida because some Scottish names are hard fro kids to pronounce

Ah, I get it now. I wasn't too sure if Merida was a Scottish name at first, it sounds Scandinavian or Spanish. Being from Scotland I really should know better -_-
And as for the hard pronounciations, yeah, that can happen. One of the most common girls names over here is Eilidh (pronounced Ay-lee) and there's a girl in my class called Ailleachd (Ay-loch)
