Description
'The Guide', illustration in acrylic and pencil on paper, 29.7x42cm (01/2012). This is a illustration that may turn into a large painting. It's about the mythology behind the Stag. It was believed in ancient Europe, Japan and Native America that the creature could travel between worlds in a single bound. In Celtic mythology, the Lord of the Forest Beasts, Cernunnos has leafy antlers and collected the souls of the dying and escorts them to the underworld. The stag is revered for it's tree-like antlers, which grow back every year with an extra 'branch', and are seen as symbols of rebirth, spiritual growth and the passage of time...
