Description

I somehow recall doing this unicorn character from one of the book covers from The Last Battle in the Narnia series so decided to draw it so I can have it in my collection again. Enjoy!

Drawn in coloured pencils.

You should do more illustrations from the Last Battle.

Maybe but I can't think of a better character from it except Jewel the unicorn.

I know. But I can give you ideas. For instance, the thirty group of dwarves who refused to follow Aslan and say: “The Dwarves are for the Dwarves!”

That's nice but no thanks I like the animal-like creatures like unicorns, dragons, chimeras, manticores or griffins.

I loved those books. And it's not often I see unicorns in fantasy anymore. But it's always nice. I'd have to say Jewel is my favorite unicorn of them all.

Well there are other fantasy books that I know with unicons in like Elidor, The Little White Horse, The Last Unicorn,

Nico the Unicorn, Harry Potter or Black Unicorn.

I remember The Last Unicorn. I need to read that one. And I remember the dead unicorn in the first Harry Potter book.

I remember those too but also there are golden unicorn foals in the Goblet of Fire.

The part where Harry was wondering where Hagrid was when he didn't turn up for Magical Creatures.

Wasn't that book five? I mean, Hagrid didn't show up until much later in book five. It was after the whole Quidditch debacle involving Harry and one of the Weasley twins getting into that scrape with Malfoy.

It also happened in the Goblet of Fire when Hagrid let slip that he was half giant & hid in his house while

the substitute came & show Harry & the other students the Unicorns then when Hagrid came to teach again

he showed them the golden unicorn foals.

I need to read those books again. I heard the Goblet of Fire is being released this fall as an illustrated edition. It not only has paintings of all the important parts of the story; it also has the original, unaltered British text. For instance, we say Santa Claus while the British version says Father Christmas. I almost forgot about the latter, considering the Narnia books.
