The Phantom Mare(ess)!
The Colt Wars!
Revenge of the Wolf!
A New Foal!
The Stallion Strikes Back!
Return of the Canine!
You were begging for that, writing in a galaxy far far away. What I'm saying is, I was provoked.
If I just inspired a dual-trilogy epic movie series, I want royalties, ok?
For context, I wrote a couple more Tunajuice style parodies last week. I can't help it.
Ooh! Ooh! The Phantom Salmon! The Carp Wars! Revenge of the Sunfish! I... yeah... um.

It reformated when I uploaded, so it doesn't make sense unless you already know the songs.
I made a new version of your user icon. It blinks. Are you interested?

In that case maybe I should make it more different. Aha, the eyes could flash red, and then blink!

It's Late Middle English, yeah. Variable word order, unsettled spelling, and the poet was a little careless. I loved it myself, though the sloppy meter got on my nerves.
It's funny- being familiar with Middle English was a real help understanding German, I'm suprised that that doesn't work in reverse.

Meyrocu In reply to louli9559 [2010-07-06 18:58:37 +0000 UTC]
It's what Chaucer wrote. It's about a crowd of pilgrem on there way to Cantarbury, and they agree that they will each tell two stories, one on the way to, and one on the way back. Whoever tells the best story buy every one supper at the inn they met in. So they each have a story, and some tell bawdy ones, and some tell pious ones, and some tell epics and some tell romances.

It wasn't half bad. I'm glad my copy was lost, though- gives me an excuse to get a better one, a facing-page one. With interliniar, it's very hard to tune out just the Middle or just the Modern English, so I'd end up reading each line twice. Drove me crazy.

Meyrocu In reply to louli9559 [2010-07-06 19:36:31 +0000 UTC]
Absolutely.
I remember when I picked up a German-language copy of the Nibelungenlied, you said you'd like to borrow it sometime. You're welcome to that too. I've read the story in English so many times I can figure out where the story is at within a couple stanzas when I open it at random, but I just don't have the vocabulary. Maybe we can read it together sometime, so you can help me with that. Bewarned- it's an awesome story, but the word order is as roundabout as the Robyn Hode link I sent.
