Part One:
*RROOOAAAR!!* Giza's roar petrified Zimani's paws, but she whipped her head around just in time to see her guardian tackle a fully-grown rogue lion into the tall, red grass. The two males tussled and swiped at each other, teeth and claws tearing through thick manes and battle-toughened skin. Though Giza was smaller than the rogue, his stealthy opening attack gave him the edge he needed to wear-down the older, more experienced lion, at least enough to convince the rogue to run off and escape with his life.
Once Zimani was sure that the rouge wasn't coming back, she rushed over to her rescuer.
"Giza! Giza, are you okay?"
Giza took a moment to steady his breaths and un-tense his expression. Sighing, and putting on a smile for his charge, he answered.
"I'm fine," he assured her, "One lone lion can't keep me down," he boasted.
"Well, how about a lone lioness?" Zimani teased and pounced on her guardian, who pretended to fall under the cubs weight, laughing.
