If you take the road out of Ottercombe village for about two miles you get to the sea. Here's Isaac Dampford (One of John's older brothers) taking Spartan out for a gallop on the beach. Spartan is enjoying himself greatly. Isaac would get a real serious telling off from the other members of the family if they saw him because he hasn't got a saddle and he isn't wearing a hat. He doesn't care. Neither does Spartan to be honest. It is a lovely day, they have a free morning, the tide is on the way out and there is a nice space to gallop in. That's all Isaac cares about.Drawn in Manga studio

There's a number of morons round our village who ride without hats, at least if he falls off the sand shouldn't be too bad if he doesn't fall badly.

No, this was just for fun, I like doing stories so I don't always enter competitions, if something occurs to me I draw it.

Yes, the seagulls all flew away when Spartan galloped at them. I'd rather deal with a bunny than a sea gull any day!

And they are big, you don't realise how big a herring gull is until it come up to you and menaces you for your sandwiches. We've got a lot inshore currently due to the season.

Mm, they are quite large. We used to talk to a one-legged one in the Channel Islands for about seven years, he was called Hoppy.
